“Jesus is a God of miracles” — it’s a simple phrase in the new hymn “The Miracle.” When composer Shawna Edwards searched for a Primary song to teach children about Christ being a God of miracles and what miracles could mean for them, she couldn’t find one — so she wrote one. A decade later, it’s being included in the new global hymnbook, “Hymns for Home and Church.” Read the backstory about how “The Miracle” came to be.
Also, in Nigeria, local church leaders — including bishopric members, stake presidency members and their wives — are setting the example by enrolling in BYU-Pathway classes. Their participation is inspiring Latter-day Saints throughout the West Africa nation to pursue higher education while strengthening their faith. And read how The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is supporting the care of children, infants and mothers across Asia, from Mongolia to Thailand. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reached a new record of 88,500 full-time missionaries serving worldwide. The new historic total surpasses the previous high of 88,000, set in 2014. Church leaders attribute the surge to the first wave of 18-year-old sister missionaries entering the field. The missionary force is comprised of teaching and service missionaries and senior missionaries. The milestone also comes as the Church opened 55 new missions on July 1.

Speaking of missionaries, a new mural at the Provo Missionary Training Center recognizes the Church’s first single sister missionaries and inspires current missionaries. The first single sister missionaries — Inez Knight and Jennie Brimhall — reached England in 1898, with the new mural depicting their service. Walking past it at the MTC includes those who are making history as the new wave of sister missionaries going out at age 18.

The Church recently released site locations for three temples in South America — Medellín, Colombia; Goiânia, Brazil; and Campo Grande, Brazil. The Church has also released a rendering of the new Spanish Fork Utah Temple. It was the last of the 15 temples announced in April 2025 by President Russell M. Nelson in his final general conference address.

After becoming the first baptized member of the Church in the Democratic Republic of the Congo 40 years ago, President Junior Banza is returning to the country as a mission president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa North Mission. President Banza was baptized in 1986 — at 14-years-old — after the Church was officially recognized by the country.

He says of returning to the DR Congo: “The Lord has given me a front-row seat to His biggest miracle.” Inside a refugee camp in Kenya, a new branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is growing in numbers. What started out as just six members, the branch has grown to over 100 in a year. Most people came to the camp after fleeing conflict or insecurity in their countries. And they now meet each Sunday to worship and find strength in Jesus Christ together.

先月ばかりか今月もパスポートに注目する人は多いに違いありません。
理由は二種類。前者は先月から申請料金が安くなったからです。
後者はお盆休みにパスポートセンターに赴く人は多い。
　過去のゴールデンウィークに得たからか？何度も渡航した人や９年以上経過したら切替する人は多い。　お盆休みに得た人は９年後のゴールデンウィークに切替の為の手続きの為に赴くか？　申請と切替の時期は異なる。　又は電子申請して休日に受け取り？　「毎週土曜日がお休みのお店なんて聞いたことが無い。」なんて人はおられるだろうけども日曜日に開庁し旅券交付してる公共施設は存在する。近隣のお店もそれに合わせて営業日と休業日を区分けしてるやもしれません。カナダ旅行してる時にホテルから空港に向かうバスに乗る前に運転手を兼ねた添乗員さん（一度しか会ってない）から「パスポートは持ってますか？」と質問され黙って見せたのを連想する。　私（マーキュリーマーク）は平成２７年八月に旅券を初入手。

　ある意味、四種類の決断です。
　第一に、期限切れの一年前から切替が行えるのでおよそ９年を過ぎた頃に行う人。
　第二は、外国によっては半年以上の有効期限を求めるので９年と半年を過ぎた頃に切り替える人。
　第三は９年と１１か月を過ぎてから行うか、切替しない人は第四番目？
　人それぞれ自由な決断です。

　どこかの誰かさんは平成２７年八月にパスポートを生まれて初めて入手してから旅行代理店に旅行商品の支払いをしておよそ二か月後の十月にレインクーバーを旅行しました。
　あれから九年以上経過後、令和七年の一月のみならず二月にも切替の為にパスポートセンター（公共施設）に行き無事に更新しました。

　旅支度について
　パスポートは必須。　旅先を選んだ後は海外旅行案内書を購入して読んで予習する。電子渡航認証等の申請や観光ビザの承認。外国語の学習。
　旅費と休暇の捻出。　医薬品も含め旅に必要な商品は買い揃えるべき。
　外貨の保有、交通費、宿泊費、海外旅行保険の支払い等を済ませないと円滑に海外旅行は行えません。

　時差への対応には複数の時計
出国前に渡航先の時間に適合させた時計と日本国内用の時計は別にする。置時計に電池を入れるのは防音の為に宿泊所の中のみでそれ以外は入れない。入室後、タブレット等を使い日付や曜日も含め現地時間に調整する。
time-j.net　帰国後は日本時間に調整可能。
　デジタル時計と複数の電池式クォーツ時計を利用されては？　
ネパールでは法規制があり一つで二種類の時刻表記が行える腕時計の利用を推奨します。　GPS電波時計は高額なので推薦しません。

隔離される予備軍で暇な人が犯罪者への連絡を目的に詰問したのか？
　某ホームページを紹介したので平成２３年に加害された。　平成２４年にドリアン長野と会話し紹介を辞めた。　紹介してた事に感謝すべきだが再開を目的としたようで邪魔された。平成２７年に私がカナダを旅行中に毎日フェイスブックのタイムラインに詰問され防犯上の問題があり激怒。
　共同正犯達は処罰対象。　「辞めて下さい。」と伝達しても「何で隠すのですか？」と返答されて旅行中に議論に至ると時間の無駄ですので帰国後に抗議した。
　日本人観光客に対し攻撃して利益を得たいと考えた人がいたようです。
　情報が無い事には動けないので過去に悪事をやらかして尋問された人が尋問してきたようです。
　連絡は「もうすぐ帰国します。」に留める方が良いか？

　海外旅行案内書について
海外旅行案内書は最新の書籍を購入して出国前に必読です。　地域限定版は構いませんけど古本は辞めましょう。　複数の出版社が販売してるので厳選すべきです。名店や名所の紹介より出入国についての情報は優先されます。

　eTAこと電子渡航認証が求められる時代
一度に数か国旅する人は減るかと思ったが逆に遂行した旅行者達はおられます。　電子渡航認証ことeTAを求める国は激増してます。　渡航する前に行う入国手続きで有料です。　複数の質問に返答しないといけません。
　その後、海外政府から承認されないと入国が不可能とされてます。
　詳細は各自で調べて下さい。

　出国税について
日本の出国税と外国の出国税はそれぞれ徴税されます。　海外旅行案内書を読んで見積もりし備えましょう。　外国に到着した後で別の外国に海路や陸路で国境越えをしたならば各国毎にeTAや出国税が求められるそうです。


　履物は厳選して下さい
　北半球の国々が冬で寒くとも南半球の国々は季節が逆になり暑い夏です。緯度、季節、標高で外気温は変更。履物については渡航前に厳選して下さい。私はカナダの屋外では登山靴、宿の室内ではスリッパを履いてました。
旅先が猛暑であればフリップフロップスとも言われるサンダルを履くのも悪くないです。

　歯磨きはホテルのみならず空港のシャワールームも含まれる？
　経由便や乗継便に搭乗する人は多くそれに比例して国際空港のシャワールームでも歯磨きする人はおられるそうです。　渡航前に海外で利用するのを目的に歯ブラシセット並びにプラスチックのコップも購入したら安心では？

旅行中に社会不適合者の疑いが高すぎな人から尋問されて困ったので令和六年に移転しました。令和七年１１月にgooブログがサービス停止をしたのでエキサイトブログを後継にしました。　渡航するか否かは自由です。
　海外旅行記の内容については当時の出来事であって現状とは異なる部分が存在します。
「営業してた店が閉店に至った。」や、「電子渡航認証の導入が行われた。」等です。　今月も連絡と推奨が行えたので皆様に感謝します。

回顧を兼ねた書評　令和二年三月



僕の初海外旅行は26歳の時のインドだった。当時往復チケットは年末料金だったので30万した（泣）。
行く前は椎名誠の「わしもインドで考えた」を熟読。
インドでは尻の毛まで抜かれるほどぼったくられ、下痢と発熱で散々だったけど、それからはリーマンパッカーとして主にアジアをふらふら。アフリカは遠すぎて行けなかった。
新婚旅行もバックパックでバンコクと香港へ。香港では雑居房のチョンキンマンションで二泊し、妻はぐったりしていた。
バンコクでは安宿と高級ホテルと泊まり歩き、マリオットのプールで溺死しそうになったのは今ではいい思い出だ(嘘)。
旅も好きだが、旅行記も好きだ。この本は主にアフリカ旅行のエッセイだが、面白い。何よりも文章がうまい。奥さんとのなりそめを綴った「追いかけてバルセロナ」なんか疾走感があり、一気に読め、感動的でさえある。朝の通勤の地下鉄で読んでたけど、日本にいながら気持ちはバックパッカー。旅の本もいいけど、また出かけたいなあ。
