In its 87th year, the Mesa Easter Pageant, “Jesus the Christ,” brings to life the story of Jesus Christ and provides a message of love and hope to those who attend and participate in this annual outdoor production.
The 70-minute presentation began April 9 and is presented daily at 8 p.m., excluding Sunday and Monday, on the north lawn of the Mesa Arizona Temple through April 19.
“Nearly every scene in the pageant shows the Savior lifting, healing, serving, rescuing … loving. That was intentional,” said Jenee Prince, who has served as the pageant creative director since 2012. “The pageant is all about God’s love.”

One of the fruits of the Mesa Easter pageant is that it helps answer the prayer of Jesus two millennia ago that His followers “may be one.”
This spirit of unity was palpable on a warm Wednesday evening of April 9, 2025, near the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, some 75 leaders of various faith traditions mingled before joining nearly 10,000 others to watch this year’s production about the life of Jesus Christ.
The Rev. Dr. Toni Hawkins, minister in the Southwest Conference United Church of Christ, who was attending the pageant for the second time, shared her powerful experience.
“I was awestruck when I first came here,” Rev. Hawkins said. “It was my very first time here in Arizona, so I’d never experienced anything like this. And I heard how wonderful it was — but it was beyond whatever I could have imagined. It was just awesome. The storytelling, the scriptures coming alive. It was just powerful. And I would encourage anyone who has not experienced this to definitely come.”

Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Auckland New Zealand Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Latter-day Saints from Auckland and Northland regions gathered in the temple and selected Church meetinghouses to participate in the temple dedication service on Palm Sunday.
Elder @PatrickKearon taught that the temple is "a sacred symbol of Heavenly Father's love for His children."

The endearing children’s choir first sang this song during the 2024 October general conference.

Easter is a time to celebrate “the most glorious event in history.” In the Feb. 16 video message “He Is Risen,” President @OaksDallinH, first counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, bore testimony of the literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ and invited viewers to deepen their Easter observance — preparing by studying the Savior’s teachings as well as creating meaningful, Christ-focused Easter traditions.
The Church News asked readers how they responded to the invitation, developing more meaningful traditions to draw nearer to the Savior through personal, family, ward and stake efforts. Members around the world wrote of their increased devotion to sincere scripture study, pondering and prayer about the Atonement and Resurrection of the Savior. They also felt prompted to serve as Christ serves.
